Table 35cm - Made on 17th April 2024

Using carbon, captured on 2nd December 2023. Please see below for details.

carbon sink

230gr Captured CO2e

This pot is made using biochar, a permanent and stable form of Carbon and is stored permanently.
Most of this Co2 would otherwise be in our atmosphere for centuries to come.

How is carbon captured?

waste utilisation

Approx. 350gr of 'waste' materials diverted from landfill or incineration

The biochar (carbon) contained used in this product was captured by pyrolysis of waste bioplastics such as coffee cups and food packaging which would otherwise decompose in landfill or be incinerated releasing embodied carbon in to the atmosphere.
Equivalent to 19, 12oz Coffee Cups.
It also contains the equivalent of a small thin walled tea glass in recycled glass.

What happens to our waste?

offset

-163gr CO2 Net Negative

With a carbon storage value of 230gr and a materials and processing footprint of 67gr, this product is a carbon sink with a net negative value of -163gr.
This is equivalent to the saving of carbon footprint of 177 minutes of video streaming on Netflix or scrolling Instagram newsfeed for just over 105 minutes approximately.
This is equivalent to the Co2 captured by an average medium sized tree in over 57 hours through photosynthesis.
